Wonder if you know

by Patrick Catanzariti

You’re high above,
I’m down below.
I’m missing you,
Wonder if you know.

We all play this game,
Never sure of the end.
You inspired me,
Hope I’ll see you again.

Came to me in a dream,
Said you were proud.
Woke up with a smile,
Wish you were here right now.

Won’t forget all your strength,
Your will to keep fighting through.
So much love for our family,
Family loving you too.

Love you so much,
I remember the smile on your face.
You were there in my life,
Never can be replaced.

I know you heard me that day,
Was good to hear from you too.
If anyone deserves peace,
That person is you.

Wish you were still around,
Could introduce her to you.
Can imagine your smile,
Imagine just what you’d do.

Your welcoming love,
The joy there would be.
I imagine you proud,
Can see you happy for me.

Hope you’re hearing this now,
As I read it aloud.
Sending you happiness and love,
Enjoy it up in those clouds.

A poem written for my grandmothers. All came to mind one night when I was thinking about what it would be like if they were still here today. My mind responded with a pretty strong picture of everything... their smiles, what they'd say... everything. It was so inspiring I had to write this. Nonna and Oma - you're both awesome :)
