The new guest

by Patrick Catanzariti

Good morning new friend,
Enjoy your stay up there?
Dancing around in the back of my head
Moving round without a care.

I appreciate the gifts,
Beautiful and stunning, you’ve hung them everywhere.
Oh they weren’t distracting at all,
It was nice of you to share!

Your taste in music you say?
Sophisticated in so many ways.
Not repetitive at all,
Could listen for days!

Can’t say I’ve company like yours often,
Last guest was quite like you,
Just as agreeable and well dressed,
Found the room quite comfortable too.

I believe you must be off?
I hope you’ve enjoyed your stay,
I’ve prepared the horse and carriage,
Safe trip, you must be on your way.

Good morning again new friend,
Still find the room to your taste?
I see you’ve redecorated further,
No space has gone to waste.

Of course I do not mind!
I find your work devine,
The room was ever so plain,
What you’ve done is quite fine!

Your conversations are agreeable,
You’re ever so kind.
Your interests quite focused and direct,
Of course I do not mind!

You’ve not spoken of your companion,
How’ve they faired across the way?
I’ve never visited the residence before,
Hope they enjoyed their stay.

Are you soon to depart?
You are always welcome of course,
But business here surely is quite resolved?
I’ll go request your horse.

Good morning my friend,
Don’t mind me, im fine indeed.
A few more days you say?
Stay as long as you need.

One of my more random poems. There is a meaning in this but I enjoy the fact a lot of people don't understand it! Written late 2010.
